Westwood Karate Academy is a professional karate club based in Essex.    We run classes in Shotokan Karate six days a week.

We have beginners classes for both children and adults running in Rayleigh, Westcliff-on-Sea/Southend, Thundersley/Hadleigh, Hockley/Hawkwell, and Canvey Island.

Our instructors train regularly on international Courses with some of the world's top Japanese instructors, and our members have access to the same courses, as well as National and International Competition.

We encourage family participation, which creates a friendly atmosphere, and we always welcome new members.

Chief instructor of the Academy is Sensei Alan Parrish 5th dan. Alan was an international competitor for many years and is now the E.T.K.F. England Team Coach. He teaches for the UKTKF on the spring and summer courses, and in 2008 and 2009 was invited to teach in Norway.
