BLACK BELT GRADING November 6th 2011

A GRADING FIRST FOR THE ACADEMY On the 10th July 2011, Marites Tomlinson became the Academy's first student ever to reach the rank of 4th dan. Marites has been a dedicated student ever since starting as a white belt some thirteen years ago. She is National champion many times over, and has represented the U.K. in competition all over the world.

A GREAT COURSE & BLACK BELT SUCCESS FOR THE ACADEMY More than 300 members attended the TSKUK Free training Course held in Norwich on Sunday 17th April 2011. Congratulations to the following Academy members who all passed black belt gradings following the Course. JASON GOES FULL TIME
Congratulations to Jason Sanchez, who has become the second student this year to be employed by the Academy as a full time professional instructor. He is a 2nd Dan black belt, and a member of the TSKUK national team. Now 18 years old, he has been training with the Academy since he was 7 years old.
PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTOR - AND NOW - 3rd DAN SUCCESS
Academy instructor, Lee Wiseman successfully passed his 3rd Dan grading at the TSKUK 2 day international training course. Guest instructor on the course was sensei Richard Amos 6th dan, who sat in on the grading panel, adding more pressure for Lee and the other two candidates. It's been a great year for 22 year old Lee, who this year has been employed by the Academy as a full time professional karate instructor. A fantastic achievement for a student who started training with us a young six year old.

The TSKUK, attending this championships for the first
time were outstanding, winning 13 Gold medals and eventually placing 3rd in
the overall medal table, behind the Italian home teams of Turin and Modena.
The Academy's Junior Squad members were invited to attend
a local competition in Maldon. Nine students entered, and between them they
won a total of six events and returned with twenty four medals and trophies.
