TESTIMONIAL

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for sending Jason and Lee to come and work with our school during our health week. We all really appreciate the time and effort they put into the activities. Both the children and staff thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Both instructors were excellent representatives of Westwood Karate due to their professionalism and great rapport with the children.
We hope to get the opportunity to work with you again soon.

About Budo 4 schools

Budo is the Japanese term for all martial arts, of which karate is one. The art of traditional Shotokan karate is Characterised by a dedication to the personal development of it's participants.

The karate code as set out by it's founder, Master Funakoshi, an Okinawan school teacher, places a strong emphasis on the virtues of respect for others, self discipline, loyalty, and perseverance.

Due to it's concentration on personal development, karate not only contributes to physical health, but also makes a significant contribution to the emotional health of it's participants.

Via the coloured belt grading system, children are able to reach regular achievable goals, and by entering competitions they can test themselves against others.

Through Budo 4 schools, our aim is to bring the benefits the karate training to as many children as possible, helping them to build their self confidence and emotional skills so they have the chance to reach their full potential in everything they do.

After school club

With the use of school premises, we can provide a regular after school club for anywhere between 10 and 50 children.

We will provide promotional material and can come into the school for assembly and to give taster classes.

School classes are significantly cheaper than our standard Academy rates. Cost per class averages out to be £3.50 and includes a FREE KARATE SUIT when children sign up for the course. At the end of each school term a GRADING is held, which is also FREE.

Courses

We can provide short courses. Each class would last for 1 hour and is a great way to give the children an in depth taste of what the art of karate is all about.

Our instructors can come into school and give short 20 minute taster classes throughout the day, free of charge, so that the children can decide if they would like to try the course.

On completion of the course, the children are given further information about the Academy so they can take their training further if they wish to.

In school classes

As an alternative to after school classes we are able to offer karate lessons during school hours.

Once a week our instructors come into school to teach two classes, for example, from a selected year group for 1 hour each. Each new term, a different year group is taught.

Assembly & Taster classes

The Academy's instructors can come into school for the day to talk about and demonstrate karate in assembly.

Then give short taster classes to children throughout the day.

There is no charge for these classes.

This year we have visited a number of schools in the Castle point and Rochford areas to give assemblies and taster classes.

Holiday programme classes

Our instructors are also able to add a karate class to an existing multi-sport holiday programme a school may be running.
