CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TEAM OF

Luke Taylor got the team off to a flying start in the quarter-final against Romania, scoring 10 points. The final score was 18 - 10 and England were in the semi-final.

Luke was first fighter up in the semi-final match against Germany but things didn't go quite as well this time. He was quickly on the attack again but a couple of fast combinations made too much contact and he was unfortunately disqualified, which under ITKF rules means the whole team was out. Overall, a great performance though.

Nathan Bond also fought in the Individual Kumite and won an excellent bronze medal, although it could so easily have been Gold or Silver. ESKA's Nathan beat fighters from Russia and Serbia on his way to the semi-final against Csaba Bernath of Romania. He was on his way to winning the match when a refereeing mistake allowed the Romanian back into the fight and eventually cost Nathan his place in the final.

The senior team beat Lithuania but also lost to Germany, and Jason Hitchings and Marli Ekkard both reached the individual Kumite second round but lost to the eventual winners.
